Why Springs Break
Garage door springs do the heavy lifting every time your door opens. After thousands of cycles — and with Tucson’s heat and dust speeding up wear — they eventually weaken and snap. A broken spring is the single most common garage door failure we see.
Signs of a Broken Spring
- The door won’t open, or only opens a few inches
- A loud bang came from the garage
- You see a gap in the spring above the door
- The door feels extremely heavy by hand
- The opener strains but the door won’t lift
Torsion vs. Extension Springs
Most doors use either torsion springs (mounted above the door) or extension springs (along the tracks). We work with both and always replace them in matched pairs so your door stays balanced.
Leave It to the Pros
Springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury if mishandled. Our technicians have the right tools and training to replace them safely and quickly — usually the same day.
